Stars Fall to Gulls, 4-1

The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL's Dallas Stars, fell to the San Diego Gulls, 4-1, on Friday night.

The Gulls took an early lead in the first period when Chase De Leo scored a power-play goal at 11:33. The Stars tied the game in the second period when Riley Barber scored a shorthanded goal at 13:17, but the Gulls regained the lead at 15:35 when Nikolas Brouillard scored his first goal of the season.

The Gulls extended their lead in the third period when De Leo scored his second goal of the game at 12:13. Antoine Morand added an empty-net goal at 18:51 to seal the victory for the Gulls.

The Stars' record falls to 13-15-3-2, while the Gulls improve to 17-12-1-1.

The Stars will return to action on Saturday night when they host the Tucson Roadrunners at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
