Edmonton Oilers One Win Away From Tying Stanley Cup Final

Panthers Fall 5-3 In Game 5

The Edmonton Oilers are just one win away from leveling the Stanley Cup Final after defeating the Florida Panthers 5-3 in Game 5 on Thursday night. The Oilers now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2, and can clinch their first Stanley Cup since 1990 with a win in Game 6 on Saturday night in Edmonton.

Leon Draisaitl had a goal and two assists for the Oilers, while Connor McDavid added a goal and an assist. Evan Bouchard, Zach Hyman, and Darnell Nurse also scored for Edmonton.

Carter Verhaeghe, Aleksander Barkov, and Sam Reinhart scored for the Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky made 31 saves in net for Florida, while Jack Campbell made 29 saves for the Oilers.

The Panthers will need to win Game 6 on Saturday night in order to force a Game 7 on Sunday night in Sunrise, Florida.
